Lecture History

  • The DVS Lecture Series began in 2016, with Visiting International Scholar Dr. Tomi Slotte Dufva presenting an overview of his current research at Aalto University. The talk was titled ‘Metaphors of Code.’

  • In 2017, Dr. Aaron Knochel, Associate Professor of Art Education, Penn State University, presented a research talk titled ‘Wicked Problems.’

  • In 2019, Nina Marie Barbuto was invited to give a lecture on her work as the director of Assemble (Pittsburgh). The lecture series was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, it returned in 2024, with a series of video lectures presented by notable digital media artists. These lectures were funded through a grant made available by the National Art Education Foundation.
